The family moved to a house (previously a local shop) with plenty of space, a garden and a side building which worked as a studio. The move gave the opportunity to work on a larger scale. Gunner started mixing the water bath paintings with figurative motives inspired especially by memories of South America, the work referencing a strong surrealistic style.
The first years living at Lolland were productive, with the personal development of ideas of a free way of living, which the family embraced. They had a second child and experimented with communal living for periods.
He had success with creating connections and was exhibiting at local libraries and schools. The large space of the house was used to set up a large exhibition showing all the work he had produced so far.
